Writer Guidelines

Submissions should cover topics of interest to an international Orthodox Jewish audience. Articles related to current ongoing issues of Jewish life and experience, human-interest features, art, music and book reviews, and historical pieces are all acceptable. We generally do not publish fiction or poetry. We strongly recommend reading the 4 most recent issues of the publication to gain a sense of our tone and style.

Because the magazine is quarterly, we do not generally publish articles dealing with specific timely events.

Articles should be double-spaced and left-aligned, and should average 1,000-2,000 words, including notes.

Authors will be informed of a decision within 6–8 weeks of submission.

Jewish Action is produced by the Orthodox Union, a nonprofit organization based in New York City. Nechama Carmel is the editor-in-chief.
